TimeMachiner. Tech, culture, nostalgia. By Aaron Crocco
The Stream

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป Hello and welcome to the Tuesday edition of TimeMachiner.

I've worked up a couple of medium-sized posts for this issue and that's because two big things happened last week. Apple officially declared the iPod dead and then Google held its annual I/O conference. It's a lot to go through, but I've got you. I've broken down the significance of both these events in true TimeMachiner style. It's a little bit of a departure from other posts, so let me know what you thought by hitting reply to this email.

Apple or Google not your thing? I have two great videos for you to get in front of your eyeballs. You can easily make today's issue your technology-free newsletter.

A quick bit of housekeeping: Friday is the final day for the TimeMachiner Reader Survey. Thanks to everyone who's filled it out!

The Sample: They curate articles from hundreds of blogs and newsletters and send you the ones worth subscribing to. It's totally free. When you sign up it helps others discover TimeMachiner too. Check out The Sample.

Thanks for subscribing. Let's get to it.

Mark Rober Gets Scam Call Center Revenge
Scammy call centers in parts of India are notorious for bilking people out of millions of dollars. It’s no secret that people fall victim to these schemes all the time. It makes scammers a lot of money. So it’s not hard to see why they keep doing it. Well, glitter…

A Farewell to iPod
It’s hard to imagine Apple without the iPod. In the Steve Jobs era, the iPod was the device that took them from “doing okay” to becoming a monumental success of a company. Even if you weren’t (or aren’t) an Apple fan, you had or were surrounded by iPods in the…
