Read to the end for a post about tidying up the web.

👋🏻 Welcome to this week's edition of TimeMachiner. Thanks for subscribing and checking out my work. I'm so happy you're here.

Sometimes good things happen after a rant. Case in point was after last week's giving up on getting my Collector's Edition of the next Zelda game, I managed to score a copy from Best Buy. Go figure. LOL.

I think sometimes we have to be a bit patient with life and also let things go that aren't worth the time. Putting in too much effort for a video game was certainly one of those instances. I still fully believe that buying things should not be this difficult.

It's been a quiet week in my world, having felt the full brunt of allergies and needing something more than OTC Zyrtec to help get my sinuses working properly again. Spending a week with my head feeling like it was in a vice grip has not been fun at all. But, I've been able to accomplish some good entertaining things.

First was finishing off The Office. I watched the UK version forever ago but now I've completed the US version. I agree with many that it's not nearly as good in the later seasons, but it was still fun. It suffers from running too long and the loss of Steve Carell really was the death knell. But of course, successful shows always run longer than they should. Overall it was a fun time to really learn all the ins and outs of Jim, Pam, Dwight, and everyone at Dunder Mifflin. For a topic as boring as office work, Ricky Gervais' creation is still a work of genius. If you haven't watched the UK version, give it a try. I genuinely loved it and think Gervais is even more cringe of a boss than Carell was.

On more recent TV, Ted Lasso is back and it's still so good. I waited a bit to dive into this season but couldn't wait too long. Excitement became too much. The downside is now I'm caught up and have to wait for more episodes to drop. It's such a feel-good show with lovable characters. It's 5% about soccer and 95% about interpersonal relationships. It's an incredible balance of how great writing can create an engaging show for everyone, regardless of the topic.

It's also another reminder that Apple TV+ is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to original programming, especially without relying so heavily on existing IP. Paramount+ and Disney+ are successful because they're basically the Star Trek and Star Wars streaming services. Apple? None of that is happening. It's also why other hits like Severance and Home Before Dark come out of nowhere. If you haven't paid attention to ATV+ yet, I highly suggest you do. There is great stuff on there.

That's it for today. I'm going to go buy about 100 more HEPA air purifiers now. 😉

I hope you have a great week.

-Aaron
