Stranger Things is all the hype once more. Season 4 has dropped, bringing the next chapter to completion. Two episodes clocking in at 4-hours is certainly a lot of Hawkins kids to watch. However, one thing that makes a great season even better is the incorporation of music this time around.
The Duffer Brothers have not shied away from bringing iconic 80's music into the Stranger Things universe. It's always been prominent. But, Season 4 took it to a new level. Without giving anything away, music is a means of survival. To help celebrate this deep interweaving of music into the storytelling, Spotify has gotten in on the action to give you your "Vecna Song". Shannon Connellan at Mashable has more.
Which song do you love so much it'd drag you out of imminent peril? Spotify wants to suggest one. The music streaming platform has launched a new "Upside Down playlist" topped with your very own saviour song, one Spotify's algorithm reckons you love enough that it would save your butt.
According to Spotify, "The Upside Down Playlist takes some of your favorite songs and mixes them with a handful of Stranger Things classics to create a vibe strong enough to ward off Hawkins’ most fearsome foe."Mashable
I'm not a Spotify subscriber, but this is one time I wish I was. If I'm going by the #1 song for 2022 so far on my Apple Music Replay, my Vecna song would be Missing Piece by Vance Joy.
I do wonder if Spotify went to Netflix with this idea or how this deal came to be. It's smart and will certainly get people streaming some awesome custom playlists.
